If I was to paint you a picture with my words what would it the picture be. If I could give you the world how do you think I would do it. If I could dream you a dream what would it be. If I could tell you a story how would it read. A picture drawn by words can easily show you the magnitude of the world and all the amazing things it holds. Dreaming dreams hold a key to the mystery of life we hold in this world. The best way for me to tell you my most favorite story is how much I love in this world with you in my world because you are my world and the dream I have is being lived right now with every minute as the man you choose to give your heart to. My story isn’t a fairytale or fiction it’s real and amazing. My story how I found life in Renewed because of you. It’s passion for the truth of everyday to show you how much I adore you. The desire for love and the honest desire

Take me away

i fall short. We all do at some point in life and by being able to acknowledge this brings us to a place in life where we are able to do something about our short comings. But what about when we have the people around us who continually tell us we have come short in life. A lot of times it makes us feel like there isn’t anything we can do about it, we tend to feel stuck and cornered when this occurs. This can make us feel rebellious and want to react irresponsible to what it is that we know as truth. And what is it that we know as truth? We have to realize that we are over comers and we can get back up in life no matter the circumstances surrounding us. Your abilities in life are far greater than we can ever imagine. We look out and see others around us doing okay so it seems and then we look at ourselves and see how our life don’t measure up to how those around us are living in doing so we can feel like a failure. Just because others are doing bigger and better things then you don’t mean you are a failure and don’t mean you have fallen short. In our life time we win and we loose. This goes for those around you (that you compared yourself to) who seem to be doing better then you. In our efforts in life we achieve greatness. It’s in our lack of effort when we fall short. Most people who have a constant feeling of falling short are those who constantly look at others lives and compare themselves to the jones. Life is to short to worry about what the world around you is or is not doing we have to just get up and do. Make your efforts known not for others to see but for you to know that in life you are achieving some goal. Reach higher. Seek harder.  And no longer compare yourself to the rest of the world.

Handling Stress Without Strain

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
Stress is a natural and normal part of life itself. People who try to avoid stress fail to see that he frictions caused by the weight of stress is good for us and is a normal part of our life together as men and women in society. That’s why a large truck carrying a heavy load will have better traction on a slippery road than a light, unloaded car. without the stress of a heavey burden whose wight can provide him a better footing.
(1) To be able to handle stress without strain, we must stop fighting stress as something alien to our human situation and learn to accept stress as a normal part of our lives. stress is built into our jobs, into our marriages, and into all human relationships. You see our responsibility and our burden can help to save us and provide us a sure footing. The loads that we are asked to carry will not injure us. They may help keep us alive!!

(2) The ability to be able to handle stress is in proportion to our ability to be flexible.
flexibility allows us to give back the energy of friction and of stress without experiencing the damage of strain. When a person takes his first airplane flight in a jumbo jet or in a small craft, he may be apprehensive as he sees the wings  of the airplane flapping in midair. But this built in flexibility in the wings keeps the plane aloft and flying. If the design of the plan wasn’t designed in the right way the high speed of the friction would rip the wings right off and you can figure out the rest of that story.
inflexibility leads us to store up all of the friction and stress  of living until physical or emotional fatigue and strain cause some type of personal blow-up. By our inflexibility we allow the normal and natural elements of stress to cause harmful strain. And just like a tire on a car, where friction and heat cause the casing of the tire to bulge, we may finally have a blowout. Each of us must come to terms with our own personal load limits. I’m sure while driving across a bridge you’ve noticed that there is a heavy load capacity. the load limits are established in proportion to the elastic strength which has been built into the working parts of the bridge. Distress points are kept within the normal amount of energy or pressure forces which the bridge has been designed to carry. Strain is the damage done by our loading the materials on the bridge beyond their elastic limit. Our character has its own tensile strength. Our emotional durability may have wither a boiling or breaking point. Our disposition and temperament may have a lower or higher pressure point than found in other people. As we come to terms with ourselves, understanding the propensities of our physical nature and our aptitudes and endowments, we can pace ourselves and avoid letting stress become strain from unreasonable or unrealistic expectations imposed on us by others or even by ourselves.
The miracle of God’s love and strength makes it possible for us in Jesus Christ to go beyond average expectations and to assume the responsibilities which might otherwise do us in. With a new serenity of spirit and a peace of mind, with out anxiety or worry, we are able to face the challenge of change and uncertainty in our daily lives.

Comprehending the Concepts of Being Ambassadors For Christ

We should first look at the passage of scripture in John 20:21; II Corinthians 5:20

John 20:21  Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

2 Corinthians 5:20, 20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

What does it mean to be an ambassador, to be one sent by God, as Jesus Christ was himself sent by the Father?

1. An ambassador before acting receives a commission from the power for whom he or she acts. This commissioning is a mark of trust in the ambassador’s ability and training, in his or her integrity, and in the ambassador’s loyalty.
A –  in this church there are two manifestations of this commissioning, baptizing and confirmation.

(1) In Baptism we are commissioned by God as bearers of the ministry of reconciliation in the new nation of the called people of God.

(2) In confirmation we are also commissioned in this church in the doctrine and discipline of Christ.

B – How should such a representative act? He or she must act responsibly, intelligently, loyally, and without consideration for his ore her own feelings or for his own person. the ambassadors duty and high privilege is not merely to deliver a message nit precisely to be a diplomat, to deliver that message with grace and with authority and with tact and with maximum amount of effectiveness, and to watch for opportunities so  that the ambassador may place that message before his sharers in the best possible light.  The message is Gods message and as Gods message to every man. its not the message from man but strictly for man and to man. it is the most important message man could ever receive upon this earth as long as they live here. It offers forgiveness and renewal, of reconciliation with the most high God who made us and with the men and women with whom we life, and it’s the promise of restoration to the Father who sent us.

It’s the offer of power to become something that we are not now but can be if in faith and hope we are willing to surrender ourselves into that audacious servant hood, a costly servant hood to be sure, which is the gateway to freedom and to new life.

What’s the payoff as being true ambassadors for Christ. We’ll enjoy a new experience of God.
the payoff for being faithful under fire is found in James 1:2 “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him” The crown of life life sounds like something you will receive later on in heaven. but this is a reward that you can enjoy today, because the crown James is talking about is life itself. When God crowns us with life, its not just physical life, although that is certainly a gift from Him. But the crown of life is a glorious new experience of God and his glory that can change the way we life today, as well as “an eternal weight of Glory” when we are with the lord in Glory. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18) when God gives you the crown of life He is saying that you have passed the test and now He is going to invade your circumstances with a new level of His power and glory that will make you feel more alive than you have ever felt in your life.

It amazes me how often we seem to work deligently to make life work according to our own efferts and leave God out of the equation. He has given us all an opportunity to know Him and have the crown of life if only we use what he has laid in front of us. His Word is power amongst the worst evil that appears before our eyes each day but with this sword we can battle off the enemy with swiftness from the power of the crown of life.

The Church With God

I have been in many church building in my life, and while growing older I realize that some have it and some don’t. I want to talk about the ones who truly have the real sustained presence of a holy God. There are few of such that I have visited that have truly shown the real presence of God. Many think they have it but the reality they are dead as dried bones awaiting with a real opportunity to be raised to new life and actually gain the real presence of a Holy God. What is the difference? Is it the fundamental Bible holy preaching where that’s all you get or is it the churches that put less interest in the preaching and more on the music with all the lights  and great bands. I would say that neither of these have anything to do with having the true presence of a Holy God. It doesn’t depend on great preaching or great music. Anyone can put on a show. From my time in ministry I have noticed many churches are more focused on making sure that the preacher can preach and that be it or some have the presence of a preacher but they put more focus on making sure the music is great. Non can offer God anything but an unrealistic view of some gimmicks to make you believe your where you need to be. I’ve notice while on the inside while serving at churches that the ones who are in charge of putting on these gimmicks are the ones who create this dead zone of dried bones. The true reality of making sure there is always a real sustainable presence of God in the mist is on the inside. If you have leader who are more focused on their relationship with Christ and the ability to express that in the live of the laity in the church and the laity to the congregation then for sure you will have a church capable of making sure the church is under the guidance of Christ. It’s his church not ours so when we do the things that we think we need to do to promote more gimmicks that are only to bring in more people we loose that holiness that the church so deserves to be under. The church should be holy and when we put holy men and women in the church as leaders and teacher then we will have the right concept of what it is to have the true presence of a holy God. Just saying. It’s time for the church to stop cheating on God and get on their knees before a holy God seeking his face.

Can’t Someone Else Do It?

Exodus 3:6-10

  1. God says “I will deliver my people” and “I’m going to do it through you”

This is the great thing about God; He is never embarrassed to call us to do the impossible. God reminds Moses that he is to be the one to deliver the children of Israel out of Egypt into Canaan. This is where I see a lot of churches today always looking at the impossible. The problem was that the Egyptians had conquered the land of Canaan. To actually deliver the nation of Israel out of Egypt into Canaan would be to take them from the frying pan into the fire. I know how easy it is to dwell on all the possibilities there are in impossibilities.

Let us look at one of the impossibilities 1. Moses had to take two and a half million people with him. By and large that is a lot of people. If you were to march that many people in a column of fours, the line would stretch for 375 miles. That is a lot of people to feed and protect. This is where it gets good.

We need to understand that there are many impossible things we face each day. Moses turns to God and says “Who am I?” God says it doesn’t matter because I am with you. Then Moses turns and asks well who are you? The question that Moses asked was not, “What is your name?” Moses knew that the name of the Lord was Yahweh. The interrogative pronoun that he uses means, explain to me the meaning of your name. So God explains that His name means “I AM.” This is what we have to look at while facing the impossible things in the church or in everyday life. God said whatever you need that is what I am.  Do you need courage to face the things that are surrounding your world which may see impossible? God is courage! Do you need wisdom in knowing how to deal with circumstances on a day to day basis because you may be in an environment which causes you to half to help people in their need of trouble, while they look to you for advice?  Whatever resource you are lacking and stand in need of this day you should know that God is there to stand in the gap and fill that need. God says I am whatever you need. Do you need a friend today God can be that friend? Do you need a vice to get off drugs, my friend allow God to stand in as reinforcement. God said tell them I am sent you.

Even though God has told Moses He is sufficient to meet his needs, Moses thinks, “The elders won’t believe me.” Moses asks, “Who am I?” Nobody will ever listen to me; I don’t have the credentials to deliver them. Have you ever felt like that? God does not go into Moses’ background to remind him that he has the equivalent of a Ph.D. He does something else. He gives him three signs as His affirmation that Moses was the man He called. Are you the man God called? Are you the woman God called? We need to understand that God’s calling isn’t a task to take lightly. We may not be leading two in a half people out of captivity, but you best come to grips with knowing that your calling is just as important as Moses’. What if only one person had decided to follow Moses? God would still have lead that one person out of captivity. Something I have learned as being a pastor; and I have always heard it said before but never meant a lot until I was faced with the position of leadership and that is “God does not call the qualified, God qualifies the called” Moses was not qualified to lead all those people out of captivity. He knew it and shamefully dwelt on it.

Moses had one final problem. “Please Lord, I have never been eloquent, for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” Moses says again “he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.” Moses was saying to God to send someone else. Exodus 4:14 says “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses.” God was not angry when Moses felt weak, when he felt unequipped, when he lacked credential. That was no problem to God. What tied God’s hands was when Moses said he was not available. The next time you are face with the impossible task I want you to consider what God did for Moses. He spoke through Aaron to get the message across to the people. God accomplished everything He set out to do by bringing the children of Israel into the land of Canaan. God is willing if you are able and available. Next time don’t say can’t someone else do it, you do it.

What is God’s Requests?

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Micah 6 begins with a summons in verses 1-5, saying that God brings suit against His wayward people, Israel. God calls on the mountains, hill, and foundations of the earth to bear witness to His charges.

  1. God brought Israel up out of Egyptian slavery.
  2. He gave them strong leaders, Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. People seldom exceed the vision of their leaders.
  3. God provided protection from their desert enemies. He turned the threat of Balak, king of Moab, into a blessing.

What more was there that God could have done for His people? The Israelites respond, “How shall we approach God?” The Israelites protest saying, “We are religious!” What does God expect of us? They cry out saying, “We sacrifice year old caves, which are an extravagant offering.” “We bring thousands of rams to the altar of God and pour out 10,000 rivers of oil.” “We are generous, even lavish, in our offerings.” “What more are we expected to give?” Does He require us to sacrifice our firstborn the fruit of my body for the sins of my soul? What does God want after all?

Israel was indeed a religious people, just as they claimed. But they had neglected a matter weightier than the law. They were pious and religious but they were unethical. Verse 10 “are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? They used false bottomed bushel. They used wicked balance scales and deceitful weights. Verse 11 says “shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?” They used two sets of weights, a heavy set for use when buying and a light set when selling.

They would lie and cheat and then turn around and call themselves a religious people. And that would be all they could say about themselves. I would hate to say that all I am is a religious person.

So they ask what God requests. We see the answer in Micah 6:8. God told them that they know what is good. Seldom do people need to be told what is good or bad, right or wrong. It is not that we don’t know, but it is one thing to know what is right and it is another thing to do what is right.

The first thing that God requests is “justice.” God expects us to do what is right and to be fair. There is not one person above the law. To live justly means to live up to a personal and corporate integrity. We are to keep our promises and live up to our agreements. Jesus said there should be no need for elaborate oaths. The kingdom man’s yes should mean yes and no meaning no. to live justly is to refuse to cheat on a school exam, or on an income tax form.

The second thing we see that God requests of us is “Mercy.” To show mercy means to be kind. God has surly been kind and merciful to us and my friend we don’t deserve it but He shows us mercy anyways. God wants us to be the same to others.

The third thing that God requests of us is “Faith.” Walk humbly before God! Faith is a process. It is continued action on our behalf in our everyday walk with the Lord. By faith we feed on God’s Word. By prayer we live in intimate fellowship with God. The set up of our lives is to live according to His will and we grow in our faith.

Are We Part of the Problem

There are so many times in our daily walk that we are confronted with the word problem.

1Sa 28:3  Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.

1Sa 28:7  Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

This is my conviction, and it is, that we are not sitting on the side lines as inactive players of this world as spectators. We are all active players. There is no bench set out on the sidelines for people claiming to be Christians. James 2:26 for as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. No I don’t believe in working for our salvation because there is nothing good enough I could ever do to merit salvation because there is nothing good in me but Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ is what brings salvation. He is what makes us right before God. What I’m saying is this. We are all on the playing field if we claim to be God’s children. We are going to want to do something better than what we were doing in our old lives. The question is raised, am I myself, part of the problem, or part of the answer?

Our most powerful temptation is this, making exceptions for ourselves. This is the problem in the text. Saul understood what was evil and knew it needed to be fixed, so what does he do? 1Sa 28:3 now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. He gets rid of all the witches.

Lets read Duet. 18: 9-14 and see what God says about these evils. When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

Now the next part is what should baffle all of us. And it is this, 1Sa 28:7 then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor. This is where we see how Saul falls into the trap of familiarity. My friend we are not above anyone in this world. And to think that everyone’s sin is greater than our own is not a healthy take on our walk with Jesus. Was Saul being a part of the problem or the answer? Are you being a part of the problem or the answer?

Have we passed from being part of the disease and helping with the cure? One reason why we throw off our responsibility as Great Commission Christians is this. What a man does with his own life seems to be of small account. We don’t think of those who are looking up to us. You see the world does have benches set out on the side lines and oh boy let me tell you there are many who are sitting on the outside looking in. If you don’t think that your life is important as a Christian to those who are not a Christian then you are going to run your course with people not respecting you as a Christian. It’s time to stand up as Christians and take our claim of victory in Jesus Christ.

There is ‘good news’ and There is Good News

August 30, 2012 1 comment

Eph. 3:8 says “Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ”

The Christian life and Christian movement are based upon the Good News. You may say man it has been a long time since I have heard good news. Well my friend this Good News is good news.

We take from the four Gospels an occurrence of events that took place in history that has shaken the grounds of this world and showed to all who deal with failure and guilt feelings a way of liberation and acceptance. This Good News came into a world of confusion and uncertainty and brought truth and integrity. I can’t think of any better news than that of something which brings victory over the dark forces which sought to enslave nations, I can’t think of any better news that teaches and reveals to a world that was lonely that we don’t have to feel alone, and we can be sure of our future being brighter though it may seem dark at the present. The Good News that we are talking about is news of a new relationship.

  1. We have a new relationship

Jesus made it so!! How do you know? Because the Bible tells me so. I’m so blessed to know of God and to know that the creator of all heaven and earth wants a relationship with me. This gives me the holy pimples. This is good news!! It is such good news that the Apostle Paul thought to say the riches of Christ immeasurable. When Paul speaks about Gods riches being unsearchable he means never ending goodness of God. How can we ever know everything about Him? The best we can do is say unsearchable, which means never ending richness of God.

There are so many terrible events happening right outside our front doors, it makes it hard to sit and watch the news today. Not too long ago, when man wanted to sin in some way he would do it in the backyard. Today it occurs right in the front yard amongst our children and friends. This terrifies me because of the things our children have to see and learn. So am I saying to go back to the back yard? No, I’m saying stop falling into sin. Don’t do it in the front yard and don’t do it in the back yard just stop doing it.

We have to remember that each time we walk into the world we are no longer the same. We are a new creation in Christ Jesus our old behaviors are dead with the world that hates Christ. Walk boldly in the faith remembering we have a new relationship. Jesus conquered it all so we could be with Him. That is the Good New!!

The Deception of Adultery

I am convinced that society today no longer looks at the high quality of Christian living. It’s sad to say that far too often we mingle with the enticements of this world and I can say that I learned at a very young age, that if you put yourself available for the things of this world, they can and they will take over your life. Now there is something that I take very seriously in my relationship with God and my wife and that is to achieve total commitment to being faithful. Families today don’t take seriously the values of staying faithful to each other. Why is this? You need to read Proverbs 7:6-23. Now listen to me as I am so concerned with the affairs of our brothers and sister in Christ Jesus. We have got to stand up to the truth of evil. Listen evil is evil there are no good parts to evil. If we mingle just a tad and loose that little bit of self control we may find ourselves in some of the most ungodly situations that we want know how to get out. Pro 6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? As the proverbs talks about the young man walking he is met and caught off guard. The sin of adultery is something that will catch you off guard. The adulteress is a crafty evil. She lies in wait for those who don’t understand and are not looking. She is manipulative. This is the same with the Church today. As we venture on in our relationship with Christ we are waiting for the day that we are met as one with Jesus Christ our blessed Savior. We await our wedding day. The church has to know that when we turn our backs on God we are saying we love the world rather than love God. What is the deterrent to adultery? Prov. 5: 15-20  Pro 5:15  Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? Men its time to stand up be men of God and love your wives. It discusses me to think of all the so many good men that ravished themselves with women who were not thier wives. Pray and ask God to give you stregnth and knowlegde to know how to stand up to this evil, so that you may never have to endure the heart ache of what does come after you realize what you have done. read Pro. 5:7-14 this is the price of adultery.
